The Crochet Dude

by admin on August 4, 2009

Drew Emborsky, popularly known as “The Crochet Dude”, started crochet at the young age of five. Having pursued fine arts in college, and performed the “starving artist” thing for years, he started crocheting for charity. It is during this period with the charity group that he acquired the nickname, “The Crochet Dude”. With the launch of his crazily popular blog, www.thecrochetdude.com, Drew’s popularity reached unprecedented levels. He published several patterns in magazines and compilation books which further fuelled his growth. Drew published his own full-length books and has made appearances as a guest on several TV programs. He is presently the crochet expert on the hit PBS show, “Knit and Crochet Today.”

This is not all. National publications, some of which include BUST Magazine, Interweave Crochet, Knit 1, and Crochet Today!, plus international newspapers like The Sunday Telegraph(in London) have attributed to The Crochet Dude’s status.

He has also co-authored the book, “Men Who Knit and the Dogs Who Love Them”. His latest book on men’s clothing designs is titled “The Crochet Dude’s Designs for Guys: 30 Projects Men Will Love”.

Possibly you may have also caught him on a number of TV shows including: Uncommon Threads (HGTV-DIY) Knitty Gritty (HGTV-DIY) Needlearts Studio with Shay Pendray (PBS) Paint, Paper, & Crafts (PBS).
